Beta release des BIOS und der Anleitung ist raus. wie üblich in #xbins auf efnet irc zu finden.

wenn der monitor "sync on green" kann, dann reicht es R, G, B, R Masse, G Masse, B Masse und Masse (pin 5 am vga stecker) anzuschliessen, um ein gestochen scharfes bild zu kriegen.
ansonsten ist eine kleine sync seperator schaltung (keine 3 euro) nötig.
Als Stecker auf der xbox seite kann man das AV Kabel was dabei war schlachten.

achtung: das bios ist ein debug bios, d.h. es bootet xboxdash.xbe und ist 512 kb gross (file im rar ist 1 MB, in 2 teile splitten, nur den 2. teil nehmen, wenn man nen 512 kb chip hat). Ein retail bios (256 kb) ist in arbeit.

wer keine ahnung vom bios flashen und modchips hat, bitte NICHT damit rumbasteln bis es ne final version gibt, sonst seh ich hier wieder "tote xbox" postings.

What this is about:

-- True Native VGA on Xbox using a simple homemade cable (instructions included)
-- VGA works on 95% of games, most games that dont work are visable but green,
-- VGA works with Microsoft's Xboxdash.xbe as well as EvoX, neXgen, and Xshell.xbe
-- VGA works with XBMP, DVDx2, and all tested emulators including MameX, XSnes9X, FBAx, and many more
-- VGA Cable is cheap and easy to make
-- Supports: 640x480, ? - No hardware or firmware limitation on higher resolutions

Now the bad news:

--?This BETA firmware was built off of Complex Debug 1.03, a 512k image with Debug properties made for 1.0 RETAIL XBOX ONLY. The current image has a flaw that makes it incomptatable with Component output (screen is visable but green), so it helps to have bank select switch on your modchip, and either use the included 1 meg image that is mixed with standard Complex 1.03, or mix the 512k image as you see fit. (I reccomend using Xecuter2 BIOS Manager to mix it with a copy of Xecuter's x2 MultiVer (better IGR then EvoX) that has been hacked with NghtShd's excelent XBtool 0.8.11.1 to remove Xecuters god damned logo.)

-- Most games that dont work will be visable, but green. Examples include Splinter Cell, Morrowind, Unreal Championship, Outlaw Golf and Buffy. Dragons Lair 3d blacks out. Launching through boXplorer or quitting back to the dash from an App will often result in a green display, and a reset of the system is required (oddly Baulders Gate: Dark Alliance will also turn VGA mode back on).

-- Horizontal and Vertical Sync are not accessable through the Xbox AVIP! Unfortunatly if your monitor does not accept composite sync (many do, most dont), you will need seperate the syncs from the green signal, or possibly anouther source. Simple methods should be documented for future releases of PiXEL8's VGA firmware.

--?This will not work on 256k modchips (Matrix, Cheapmod, X-Elixir), it requires an X2, PCBioXX, ???, or flashing the TSOP. We will see VGA Enabled 256k _retail_ firmware in the future, but this is what we get for now. Unfortunatly for the scene, PiXEL8 went out and found himself a life (congrats, PiX!).

Cool, aber da diverse meiner Lieblingsgames net unterstützt werden, leider für mich uninteressant, aber für einer spätere Linuxbastelei sicherlich sehr interessant....

Naja, wenn Du zu wenig Geld hast, dir nen anständigen PC zu kaufen. kannst du Deinen alten Monitor weiterbenutzen, dir ne Xbox für 179.-€ kaufen, da Linux drauf machen und damit arbeiten.
