Wii + WiiKey (original, unknown vers.) = Should I buy it?

I am offered a EU Wii + WiiKey + 2 nunchuck kit for an OK price (definitely not expensive, deffinitely not bargain), lightly used, and I can't decide whether I want it or not. I have couple WiiKey questions that need an answer before I make my decision. I know there are answers in this forums but woud take me days to sort them out, and I need to say Yes or No by monday.

1. Do all Wii backup games (not original Wii games) run on a WiiKey-modded Wii? What is all that noise about Super Paper Mario? Are there other games like this that never run on WiiKey or that brick WiiKey?
2. What are the chances of bricking Wii+WiiKey by playing other region games? Does WiiKey offer protection from such bricking? Does WiiKey recover bricked Wiis?
3. Does upgrading firmware via games damage WiiKey or Wii in general? Are there firmwares to stay away from?
4. Have WiiKey managed so far to be undetected by Nintendo software?
5. I am not sure what WiiKey version firmware is on the Wii. Given that I don't upgrade the firmware from the initial one, do I lose compability with recent Wii games?

1) all games work.
2) games from other regions can always brick with a "wrong" update, no chip in the world can prevent that. you CAN however edit the updates out of the images by now, given you take the time to read up a bit and get the software.
3) no.
4) yes and no. there are some games that were able to detect it due to a bug, but that has been fixed in the last wiikey firmware.
5) yes, with any of the ones that detect the chip (SSBB, mario galaxy, for example).

2) Can you elaborate a little. How can I remove updates from the images? Are updates removed from images by release groups as they get posted online, for the people who don't read prior burning and playing?
4) How "fresh" is the current WiiKey firmware based on the latest slew of games that manage to detect WiiKey?
5) What is the latest version of WiiKey firmware and where can I download it? Is WiiKey still supported in order to allow future compatibility?

2) using trucha signer and patches for the specific games. release groups will NOT be discussed here, or game downloads for that matter.
4) it fixes the detection. there's nothing beyond that right now that can detect.
5) 1.9g is current. there likely won't be any further updates unless there's some major issues with something, since the models the wiikey runs on are no longer in production.
