Wii disk channel shows system update icon for PAL games

My willkey is in 1.9s and turns on region free, my wii is on 3.3U, whenever I put in a PAL games, the disk channel shows wii system update icon, any clue?

that's because the update still has to run to check if any update is required. use the setup disk to turn on the "disable update" and "0x20" options (don't recall the exact names), that should skip the update completely.

Do you mean the "Block Updates" option from wiikey config disk (1.4 or 1.9 whatever), I already set it to on. And I am not sure what is the "0x20" options.

Hmm... I didn't turn on the "Dev Mode", is it why?

im having the same problem, but im new to this ... can someone please explain what the setup disc confic disc are they the same thing?

Run config disk, set region free on and block update on, my problem solved.
